Translation Techniques Analysis:

Sentence 1: here the translator is using duplet technique that are literal (word by word) technique and addition technique. We can see that in the words “there was a girl called Cinderella” into “ada seorang anak perempuan yang dipanggil dengan nama, Cinderella”, this sentence is translated word by word. Moreover, in the words “called” is translated into bahasa using any additional words “dengan nama”.

Sentence 2: in this sentence, the translator is only using one technique which is literal (word by word) technique. It is written in the “Cinderella is lived happily with her mother and father until her mother died” into “Cinderella hidup bahagia dengan Ibu dan Ayahnya sampai Ibunya meninggal”. There isn’t any additional or grammar that is changed.

Sentence 3: in the third sentence, he uses single technique that is literal (word by word) technique. He translated the sentence without change the grammatical system or look for the equivalent of words there. We can see that in the words “needs a mother figure in her life” is translated into “membutuhkan gambaran seorang ibu di hidupnya”.

Sentence 4: if we see the fourth sentence, he uses the duplet techniques to translate this sentence. Those are literal and transposition techniques. In the literal technique, we can see in the words “Unfortunately, Cinderella's father dies and “, is translated into “Sayangnya, Ayah Cinderella meninggal”. The transposition technique, we can see in the words “with her stepmother and stepsisters” which is translated into “dengan saudara-saudara tiri dan ibu tirinya”, here the translator changes the grammatical arrangement.

Sentence 5: in the last sentence, the translator uses single technique. This is the adaption technique. We can see the adaption technique in the word “housework” is translated into “pekerjaan rumah tangga”.
